Lt General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Ahluwalia PVSM, AVSM**, YSM, VSM (Retd), an alumni of National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla, was commissioned on 14th Nov’ 1971.
In a brilliant career that spanned over 40 years in Indian Army, he served on all prestigious command, staff and instructional appointments. He rose to be the General Officer Commanding in Chief (Army Commander), Central Command before he superannuated in 2012. Thereafter, he was appointed Member, Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT), Jaipur Bench. General has been a keen aviator and has flown helicopters in all kinds of terrain. He was the Director General Military Training (DGMT) of Indian Army for three years, wherein he controlled a number of training establishments and schools of instruction. He is among the highest decorated General Officer of the Indian Armed Forces.
Lt. General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Ahluwalia, an MSc. & M Phil, had carried out in depth research into Naxalite movement and conflict resolution, and was awarded his doctorate on the subject in November’2016. Beside a number of articles, he has authored a book, “Red Revolution 2020 and beyond, Strategic Challenges to Resolve Naxalism” in August 2013.
Currently, he is the Director General Raffles Group of Institutions.
